Strength That Needs An Audience

The inherited script of patriarchy, misogyny and chauvinism, control dressed as protection, an unequal division of work at home, and the cost to a boy taught that feeling is weakness

A man who keeps having to prove he's a man is telling us he isn't sure.

Patriarchy wrote the script, misogyny enforces it, and chauvinism struts around inside it. All of it is conditioning, which also means it can be unlearned.

Watch how it shows up at home. Police her clothes, her phone, who she talks to, and call it protection. Guard her "purity" like family property, because somewhere we decided honour lives in a woman's body. Then divide the house: she cooks, cleans, raises, remembers — after her own full day of work — and he asks where his dinner is and calls it her duty.

It costs women most. It also takes a boy taught that feeling is weakness and grows him into a man who can't name what's wrong and has nobody to tell.

The ones actually carrying weight are quiet. They listen. They apologise. They treat a partner as an equal.

Strength that needs an audience was never strength. It was fear in costume.
